Hello 3 Friends Who Read My Blog...

I'm sorry I've been lame recently.  I'm exhausted from boredom.  We've been so busy with work there hasn't been time for much else.  I promise to be fun again soon.

In search....

So my super amazing friend who has been watching the bebes for the last few months went and decided to procreate again!  I tried to tell her she was being selfish and unreasonable.  Seriously I tried to reason with her and explain that she "needed" to go out and buy a brand new SUV but she just won't budge...I know I know...I don't understand her either!  :)

Anyway I'm now in search of a new super amazing friend to watch the bebes and I'll tell you...it's rather hard to find.  I have unreasonably high expectations...and while we all know I'm just LOADED...I'm not really willing to pay someone more than I make to watch my daughter.  What am I working for if I give every penny to someone else to stay home with the bebes which HELLO is what I would rather be doing with my time?  I've joined a few online sites to look for help but they all seem to want a paycheck (before taxes) larger than what I currently make?  I'm starting to think I should just stay home and take care of other peoples children?  I could make a crazy load of money?

Anyway I'm on the hunt and I'm not going to find anyone as awesome as my friend and I'm going to have to accept that and until I win the lottery I won't be hiring an Au Pair...does anyone want to watch my cutie patootie (yes I'm a mom get over it) little bebes.  It's the best job in the world?  Seriously it is!  And you can eat all the stale Cheerios you want?  I know the perks to this job really sell it huh?

I think if we don't find someone soon I'm going to have to make Dave move us back to Ohio and force our families to embarrass the "it takes a village" mentality...oh and by the way family....we'll be living with you cause the likeliness of the house selling in this economy...slim.

Dave worked all weekend so it was just me and the bebes most of the time.  A friend came over Friday to work on an arts and crafts project and left this piece of fabric/tulle/fluff behind which turned into a really great toy.  We practiced our ballerina/bride techniques and slobbered all over it.  Must have been some high quality material because it survived and thrived.

Anyway I did a little shopping and a ton of really boring laundry, drank a little wine and attempted to relax.  Yesterday we snuck out to Ikea in the evening and I found the PERFECT daybed for our 3rd bedroom.  I'm SO EXCITED.  It goes from fully functional attractive daybed to a queen maybe king sized bed and it has STORAGE.  I swear I almost peed my pants.  I know I know...attractive.  I realize how awesome my life is when I understand how easily it is to amuse myself.  Seriously though it's a 'nice' piece of Ikea furniture and it doesn't look like a futon...I'm over the moon, and under the mac and cheese.  Yeah you know I have no idea what I'm talking about.
So anyway my weekend was eventful but exhausting.  I'm literally whipped.  (like egg whites or tasty cooool whip).  Moving on.  I have to do the baby swap with Dave tonight after I get off work and before he starts so those 45 seconds will be the quality time for the day.  I look...well pretty wouldn't really describe the attractiveness going on with me today.  I would go with scraggly and cranky looking.  I'm not cranky...well not overly cranky...but I didn't put any effort in today, and now I have to go see all of Dave's coworkers and all that craziness.  I'm not thrilled about this.  I have this lovely thing on my forehead that is really just screaming "Pretty Girl."  I'm excited for this evening and some New China but I'm truly looking forward to Friday.  What is Friday everyone?  HAPPY TAX RETURN DAY!!!!  More updates to come...Yippee!  Woohoo!  Zippah!  I feel like a Nintendo character!  Hey Hey it's me Mario!
Check out Miss America up there.  Crazy beautiful child.  I'm already working towards years of resentment.
Do you see this...she's almost ONE YEAR OLD...I know its cliche but seriously how did that even happen?  I realized the other day I haven't had a hair cut in  A YEAR.  Yesterday (last year) was my baby shower and I got a hair cut right before that.  It has been over a year since I got my hair cut how insane is that?  It's not even very long?  I guess having most of your hair fall out after you have a child and the hormones shift would affect the length as well?  Regardless it's still necessary and neeeeeded!

Wow do you see the skill I went from a memorable and momentous moment in my child's life to talking about my hair?  And well that's not really that exciting.

Oh WELLLL....I'm out...

WWDD?

I know I know we are all sitting here thinking:  WWDD?  What would David do when we get a brand new oven and no longer need to crawl on the floor to use our broiler.  Well by golly it looks as though he wants to see it in action....here he is checking on the pork roast...silly Dave.  I was pretty sure we got the new oven so that I didn't have to crawl down to broil...apparently we just got a new oven so that Dave could admire its amazing bake-tastic-ness...or get a tan?

What have we learned?

I've been rather fond of lists recently so I thought...let's list what I've learned over the weekend...

1.  Having a baby and buying a house in one year makes for happy taxes.
2.  On rare instances...occasional snarkiness with your husband gets the point across.  (Sorry love).
3.  Two bottles of wine late on a Sunday evening does not make for a very enjoyable Monday.
4.  Our cats do indeed hate us, and show this disregard for our sanity by puking...everywhere.
5.  2 Advil and tortilla chips are still the answer to getting rid of my hangovers...I knew I learned something in college.
6.  Dave makes the best stinkin baguettes.
7.  Sometimes I'm not super mom and I give Dave my thoughts on parenting and he has to suffer with the bebes who wouldnt go to sleep till almost 8 last night.

Grace in Small Things #27

1.  Absolutely nothing is affecting my mood.  I'm purely in a great mood and there's no real reason for it.  Isn't it great to be happy just to be happy?  Does anyone want to smack me yet? haha
2.  This is another one of those weekends where I get to see Dave.  I'm beyond thrilled!  We get to have dinner 4 nights in a row.  Insanity I know!  It's almost like we have a normal schedule...except it's just a fluke.
3.  The last two days have been absolutely beautiful and every normal person around me has been affected positively by it.
4.  Dave made a really amazing stuffed chicken last night, sort of like a chicken cordon bleu, but better for us and better tasting.  What is with people who mix their meats?  Chicken and ham?  Turducken?  Anyway this was tasty and lovely and I ate all of it, which must have meant I was starving by the time dinner arrived.
5.  Hand Sanitizer...no I'm just lying I just looked around the room and tried to find something that was positive and "Grace in Small Things."  I'm not sure if my office space is the appropriate place to look for inspiration.  Well that's a lie too because I have some adorable pictures of my family up in my Cube de Lindso.  I've used this before but lets make #5...I have a job.  And it's a good one and it's pretty stable and if you know me at all...you know I enjoy me some stability.

side note: I spell checked and there was no correct spelling for turducken.  Isn't it just sad we live in a world where turducken isn't a recognized word in our language....sigh.

I haven't rambled in a while?

I have been overwhelmed with a lack of home Internet usage and tons of family in town over the last few weeks.  We are painting and hanging light fixtures and making a huge mess of the house.  It's going to be so pretty pretty when it's all done though.  In the last three weeks my parents have come up and Dave's family has all come up and we've sanded and painted our dining room.  As soon as possible I will be posting home improvement pictures.  I swear...I really want to display the purple bathroom...BE GONE SATAN!

So I don't want to talk about home improvement anymore because I lack the ability to show you all the hard work...It's so funny we've taken such a short period of time to pick colors to paint the house and I'm having such a hard time picking colors for my blog.  I'm a blatant copy cat I want to redesign my blog.  A friend of mine redid hers the other day and now I want a pretty site too.  It's hard though I don't want to pick something that I wont like next week, apparently the $1.50 I would spend on revamping and choosing a theme is a HUGE investment?  I'm such a wack job...seriously.  I just want to turn mediocre into marvelous!  Sheesh who knew this would be such a challenge.

Today I woke up, rolled over and said "Husband, what was the movie you were watching last night about?" and he responds "Assassins."   At this point I just got really mad at him...I barely slept last night because the whole night I had bad dreams about assassins chasing me, and apparently there was some sort of Chinese Triad and Eddie Murphy (to which Dave responded "I would run away from Eddie Murphy too.")  Thanks for the help husbando!  We stopped at a convenient food store type of place and we were sneaking bites of animal crackers and soda because we didn't have the money to pay for them.  We left the store and we were weaving through cars all waiting in line to drop their dogs off to a doggie birthday party where they were serving whole roast chickens.  I have no idea where parts of this dream came from.  We had a delicious vegetarian dinner before bed I wasn't even craving meat or extra protein.  My whole dream ended with me consuming a huge roasted chicken leg and corn on the cob because of course my partner (who changed throughout the dream) and myself were so hungry....anyway then my alarm went off.  I know it's anti climatic but really where was the fresh organic produce and meat plus Eddie Murphy assassin dream going to go anyway?

It's a really slow day as usual I'm trying to learn something new and today I'm focusing on Djerba.  Chicago Public Radio is doing a piece on them today but since I don't get the chance to really listen to the radio at work I'm doing my own investigative study on it.  So far I'm fascinated!

Also I'm working on reading the Bible in a year.  I'm convincing myself that once I make it through Deuteronomy it will get less tedious but holy cow the first five books are kickin my butt!  I'm really enjoying the experience and it's helpful to have Dave around to ask questions to because well...he knooooows.  I've done plenty of reading in the New Testament but this is my first time starting and putting any real focus on the Old Testament and I see why I skillfully avoided it for so long.  But I'm diving right in and I'm learning so much from it.  I give it an A+ for positive experience and a D- for heck yeah you're putting me to sleep.

I also checked this out today.  This is such a post about religion without actually being a post about religion....cool.

I'm heading back to the land of work, break is almost over and I'm running out of ramble.  Is it alliteration when the words aren't right next to each other.  I'm all about alliteration.  I think that was just rhyming followed by alliteration.  I'm so loosing the battle of 'who's cooler,' pretty much because everyone is cooler than me!

I want to be a doctor!

I think I always lost this game because I had 2 huge cars filled with children...they were all twins and triplets.  I hope I'm not turning into that kid obsessed octuplet lady......
