This is another one of those...blurt out my random thoughts posts okay? Okay here we go!
So I can't stop bobbing around today. I'm antsy or just strange, either way I'm scaring the people around me. I'm also extremely online social today. Too bad I'm never social in real life...and I like it that way...
I got an AMAZING deal on Omaha Steaks today...and the fact that I'm blogging about it really adds to my super cool levels doesn't it? Being a mom is the coolest lame job ever! Why I equate Omaha Steaks to being a mom I don't know... especially because my child inst old enough to cut her own food, why Steaks=Toddler=Mom of Toddler? Well whatever!
I'm looking forward to getting the mail? Have I ever expressed my mail love? I think I have but lets refresh...I HATE SHARING MAIL RESPONSIBILITIES. Why can't my husband just let me get the mail. I LOVE getting the mail...(and wow responsibilities is a hard word to spell correctly in all caps....dude).
I'm also craving orange chicken for dinner but seeing as we don't have any oranges or deep fry oil...I will sadly hold my breath for a day when imitation Chinese food is readily available to me again.
What should I have for dinner? That question is open for commentary suggestions and smacks in the face.
Yesterday I used the word Culs-de-sac and was really proud. I didn't actually use it in context because when does anyone need to talk about multiple cul-de-sacs haha cul-de-sacs silly...but I mean I guess when I take up my life long dream to become a city planner I can use this knowledge...huzzah!
I ate TWO St. Patrick's day themed sugar cookies today and let me tell you...I'm feeling very Irish...except that I'm not really very Irish I'm mostly just a Finn...theres a smidge of Irish I "think" on my fathers side...but I'm not going to be drinking green beer any time soon or speaking with an accent so it's best just not to believe me when I say I'm feeling Irish..cause then I'll just go off on a tangent and well...that would be bad.
I followed a link yesterday off a blog I read regularly and it took me to a Catholic news website. It was really interesting and I was reading this really cute blog post on big families (I'm sorry I would cite it but I can't find it...my bad) and it was just a good humored nice family piece...I scrolled down to read some of the comments and after a while I fell upon one that was extremely negative and basically ripping "Catholics" so they say a new one and telling the other people commenting that they were crazy for wanting lots of children and the government should regulate this etc etc. I personally don't have a problem with how many children anyone has, and I'm a huge fan of Catholics...but my argument against this person really has nothing to do with what they said...I'm just ASTOUNDED that this person who clearly hated what this blogger and what Catholic doctrine often leans towards or dictates went out of their way to find a blog they knew they would disagree with just to tell people off. I don't surround myself with people like that so it's hard for me to understand someone powered by hate (of anything) to go lash out. Thats like me saying I hate bananas and purposefully going to the Chiquita website and yelling at them for promoting something I personally don't like. (except I really do like bananas...I promise...they are tasty!) I just can't see being fueled so much by dislike that you'd go to a site and become your own instigator. I have better things to do than that.
Off my soap box....lets see family and friends...I've been spending a lot of time at home with my hubby and the bebes. We rearranged the living room last weekend to get our 3rd bedroom cleaned out. We are hoping to sometime soon get an actual bed in the bedroom...I know...me and my crazy pipe dreams. I'm really excited to hunker down in there soon and clean up my own mess....my mess has been kinda hidden by a larger Dave mess so its slowly getting cleaned up I can go and organize all of my drama in there.
I'm also hoping to bust out my sewing machine soon. I need to make a pretty cover for an old bench/toy box that we are going to repaint to go in our entryway and I want to make boxes (I can't think of what they are called right now) to go over the windows to cover the top of the wood blinds and decorate...I'm dumb what are they called? Anyway thats in the works...I'm also wanting to make Christmas stockings for the family...which I should probably get going on because hello...theres only 10.5 months till Christmas...and it will probably take me two years to make them lol
I think thats all I can come up with for today. Other than you know...this:
I'm gonna knock you out....
Oh my...seriously cut me off!
P.S. What does 'eat my biscuits' have to do with any of this? I can't even begin to explain....

What does this picture tell you about my life....
1. I took this picture WHILE driving on a bumpy surface...in fairness I was on a clear dry road in the middle of the day with no traffic and approaching a stoplight...so I was driving slow.
2. My vehicle is close to 100,000 miles and it still loves me enough to run everyday.
3. I have a full take of gas thanks to TSC and the BP giftcard.
4. ITS FREAKIN FREEZING IN CHICAGO!
Seriously take me back to London...It was 30 on the coldest day and even that was cozy. Most days it was 45 with a light chill.
Or better yet...Bring on Spring! Seriously!!
I will never complain about 'weather' but am I allowed to complain about temperature? Cause I'm a freeze baby and I don't handle this crap well!

Hi, I'm Lindsey and I like bad pop music.
***HI LINDSEY***
I used to have good music taste, I think I did? Dave will never agree with that statement but we won't even begin to discuss his music preferences. I used to listen to really interesting and unique bands, small townie bands, local groups I could afford to see frequently. I liked going to small venues to listen to new and upcoming music (I'm making myself sound WAY cooler than I actually was...) but still. I used to seek out music much more than I do now.
Now I have a bebes, and while I can't blame her entirely for this, she is a contributing factor as to why I don't have hours on end to download and explore new music.
So...most days when I can get Handy Manny turned off or at least lowered in volume or I can get my child to forget she has a DVD player in the car...I start to forget that my life is just one huge Disney montage singing spectacle...and I turn on the radio. THE RADIO...now because I don't have any of that fancy stuff like Sirus or XM radio...I listen to the old classics like FM and AM.
When I lived in Cleveland there were a few stations I really enjoyed listening to. They had new and upcoming artist the hosts were really interesting to listen to. For some reason try as I might I have yet to find a station anywhere near Chicago that has music I want to listen to. It's driving me batty! I listen to NPR most days because yes, I do like to be well informed about the world around me but also because there is REALLY nothing else I want to subject myself to.
Recently I've been listening to one of the more popular stations in Chicago area and apparently I now LOVE pop music. I wouldn't say i'm as far gone as a Brittany Spears lover...but DAAAANG some of this music is catchy. Who knew Pink was so talented? And I just downloaded that Hot Mess song by Cobra Starship....That song was clearly made to make late 20 something suburban loving white girls with toddlers and husbands at home...want to slap on hot pink lipstick some hooker boots and a boob-licious top to go clubbing...I SWEAR! Every time I hear that song while driving...I start maneuvering the car like I'm driving on 22' crome rims cruising for chicks...except...wait...anyway you get the idea.
I either need to embrace this new lifestyle or get back to my roots. I'm seriously confused at this point and need someone to burn me a few CD's...do people still do that? Maybe someone could gift me some music on iTunes? I'm desperate here people...DESPERATE!

THE BEST VACATION EVER!
Some of you may know...heard a rumor...that I went on vacation. Now...the catch here is that Dave and I have never been on a trip...alone...together...yes alone together...it makes sense just roll with it! We've gone places with family, we've attended a wedding or two with bebes in tow...but we've never gone on vacation together. No honeymoon, no weekend away...nadda.
We went to London. It was fun. But. Before we went to London...We went to Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love. We had a layover of about 7 hours...which seems like a long time...but when you have to fly through the Philly airport and all of the lovely shenanigans associated with that....LOVELY airport...it was no time at all. The other reason I wasn't so worried about a long layover is my very favorite CamieO lives outside of Philadelphia and because I haven't seen her in 3 WHOLE YEARS...I missed her desperately and we were going to get a drink....and some sort of appetizer...and hang out. OH JOY!
Apparently if your looking for a good time in Philly its bests to leave the entire airport area. Drive far far away. The only sit down establishments to get a drink near the airport were a Marriot hotel bar....and a Ruby Tuesdays. Now...I HATE...Ruby Tuesdays. I feel bad, I shouldn't...but I've always disliked them. They really grossed me out as a teenager and I've had no interest in revisiting them. Now maybe I'm being harsh but this place has done nothing to wooooo me. Yes woooo me. So...we are all in agreement that we dislike Ruby Tuesdays but its the only place open and near by that works. We three begrudgingly (oh rhyming i like it) head to Ruby Tuesdays.
Okay at this stage in my FABULOUS story telling Dave, CamieO and the Lindso are all sitting in the restaurant (near the restrooms and an emergency exit...location location location)...we all seem rather exhausted and don't have much to talk about which is okay...we are just soaking in the scenery. The restaurant isn't full but theres a few people scattered around us. Theres a table near by with a 'young' mom and her 5 teenage children (assume what you will)...and a nice girl sitting next to us having a glass of wine and reading a book, few guys at the bar...etc etc...its a Friday at 4...not quite happy hour but we're getting there. Our waitress who I really actually truly liked felt the need to say "Sh**" a good 3 times even before she took our drink order. This was a colorful experience...I mean really...how generic can you get...But heck I figure I'm leaving the country to go on a big adventure...I can have a mellow drink and snack before I head out...this will be good for us to relax before our long flight.
Thats when the FBI showed up.
I turn to Camie and Dave and mention to them that their happens to be an FBI agent coming into the restaurant, which Dave offhandedly responds: Oh hes probably just getting a drink after work!...Me: In full riot gear? So moments later 2 mooooore FBI agents come trotting (full on running in) to the Ruby Tuesdays (my favorite restaurant) and then we notice the guys at the bar are plain clothed agents and they all start searching the restaurant. OF COURSE....the FBI agent behind us in the corner by the bathrooms starts yelling "GUYS GUYS I HAVE ONE BACK HERE NEED BACK UP BRING BACK UP ONE GUY OVER HERE!" In moments because heck thats what happens in these scenarios the entire parking lot is flooded with FBI cars, trucks, agents, and of course machine guns and they are dragging two guys (one from the bathroom...you know WHERE WE WERE SITTING) out of the restaurant.
Now...the young mother and her multiple offspring that I was talking about earlier... apparently had enough sense to get the heck out of their chairs and get out of the way. We three (I really like that phrase today) are sitting in our seats... craning our necks to SEE THE ACTION. Of course the machine guns...those must be toys...no big deal. Silliness.
Thankfully our stupidity didn't harm us and the really amazing FBI agents had the place under control the whole time. Lets be honest...the three of us were apparently going to be the first ones picked off in a fight...for not having the foresight to GET OUT OF THE WAY.
So the situations under control. The Drug Enforcement Devision of the FBI has handled the "bust." Oh now I'm using cool but fake terms for the fancy FBIness....anyway these two guys had been in the restaurant the whole time....and of course there are still gun toting, machine gun happy agents circling the building which I'm VERY okay with seeing as they knew what they were doing.
I finally turn to Dave, smack him on the shoulder and declare: This is the BEST vacation EVER! To which Camie turns in her classic "Camie can be heard over everyone" voice and says "Welcome to Philadelphia!" A waiter across the restaurant pipes in to let me know that this is NOT what Philly is like.
So the FBI is still around and business gets back to normal and the table with my young mother friend who happened to get up from the table and get out of the way with her kids during the whole commotion is now back at her table...eating...and on her cell phone screaming obscenities and creating a bit of a scene. Apparently the 2 friends of ours that just got dragged out in cuffs by the heavily armed beefy agents were at her house just two days previous. The drug lords...gang members...drug dealing....hoodlums...were at this womans house...2 DAYS AGO...and APPARENTLY she didn't recognize them in the restaurant? Now...WHY when it is clear that an ongoing investigation is happening IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE...and the machine guns in the parking lot have not been disengaged (is that what happens...I haven't shot a gun in some 23 years)....are you talking about this? Do you WANT to get questioned? AND WHYYYY are you making a scene IN the restaurant talking about being associated with these up-standing probably innocent *cough* men who just got arrested?
I'd never been to Philadelphia and I have to say this was one of the BEST first trips to a city. I TOTALLY plan on going back.......to visit Camie of course...and maybe something interesting will happen?
