So we're painting the hallways, and the living room. We are very much mid-project because our living room is open to the second floor and entryway so its a very wide open space. That being said we do not own a ladder tall enough to repaint our ceilings and paint the walls at the current time. Regardless we are painting what Dave can reach...cause lets be honest he isn't really a team player when it comes to home improvement so I'm mostly just supervising. Sometimes he lets me hold the brush or fix a drip mark. I'm also very okay with this. I enjoy the supervisory role in this scenario. Anyway so we are painting and the walls before...look as though they were first yellow...then they were dark blue and then instead of painting the walls white or priming them they turned into baby blue. So before...when you walked into our house you saw a baby blue entryway. The previous owners were really huge fans of Ikea too so you have baby blue walls and Ikea furnishings in a borderline country styled home. Anyway we've painted:
This picture I can't really explain myself so lets hope the pictures do. The previous owners painted this blue wall here...IN THE FAMILY ROOM. I'm not sure if you notice the clearly defined separation between entryway and the family room. This is the only wall in the entire family room painted blue. Does anyone else see the divide of carpet and hardwood? Maybe it's just me...silliness. Anyway...this is the best part:
Because we have yet to choose a color for the family room, because we are so very indecisive on the subject, the family room is still this ivorytanish color, next to the ONE blue remaining wall in my house....and then there next to the new butterscotch color that I love.

Here is my hallway, mid-project....I know I took a picture of it finished but I can't seem to find it...Ooooh well. I was worried the color wouldn't be bold enough but I'm really happy with it. It works really well with the hardwood floors and the white woodwork. Even the butt ugly carpet looks good with it. This color had to be bold but still neutral because its going to be in the whole entryway up to the second floor and the hallways up and down. The living room which will also have furnishings in it is going to be this color. It was a big *good* decision. Phew....
Here is Dave disappearing the bluuuue: Our bench that we have that goes on this wall looks AWESOME there now. It's a really dark wood bench and it just...gah the blue was just not doing it any justice haha.
I'm pretty happy with our midway point, now lets just see how quickly we can procrastinate towards the finishing of the downstairs bathroom. Die Lavender Die!
I've also decided that we need to spray paint our bed frame IMMEDIATELY. All of the hardware in our room is a silver/brushed nickel sort of color and originally I was convinced we needed to buy a new wooden bed frame and then the genius in me realized that I could spend under 50 dollars and just spray paint the current one and it would reflect our style much more than a wooden frame would have. Now we only need paint on the walls, new end tables, curtains and brand new bedding and that room is done...so you know...a small investment? haha
