Updates and thoughts on my entire existence.

aka this might be a long one.

But I suppose since I haven't updated in about 2 weeks you can all just suffer through this!

xoxo Lindso

So, I'm tired.  More tired than I want to be and more tired than I probably should be.  I'm taking excellent care of myself and horrible care of myself all at the same time.

Over the weekend The Bebes went trick or treating for the very first time.  I believe she made it to 8 whole houses.  Dave and my SIL took her around to all the different houses and at the end it was mostly just her taking a wagon ride, in a Minnie Mouse costume.  I call the day a great success!

She of course refused to smile, or look at the camera.  I have a few better pictures but heres our two attempts at a family photo.

We also spent the weekend working on potty training.  WHY we decided to have family in town, Halloween festivities AND potty train I do not know.  It was SO much fun and SO stressful but we made some progress on all fronts.

I made tons of fun food and even got my SIL to eat a Mummy Dog.  Who DOESN'T like mummy dogs...seriously.  Heck we might have those for dinner tonight, they were SO tasty.  I do have to say after watching hours on end of Veggie Tales my mummy dogs looked a little bit like the Philistines than mummys.  Don't you think?

So after a long but good weekend, back to the normal routine this week.  The Bebes is having some SERIOUS "terrible twos" issues and it's been a challenge dealing with her the past few weeks.  I'm glad I got pregnant before all this kicked in, because I'm thinking we might have waited A LOT longer to try for number 2 if this was going on.  Thankfully I'm reassured by every professional out there that everything going on is totally a normal progression of toddlerhood.  I just need a nap to try and grasp it all.  The problem is...I'm GOOD with toddlers, I GET toddlers.  My toddler of course....totally not getting.  I was so sure once we hit the toddler stage I had that one HANDLED.  Of course I'm exhausted from even trying anymore.  I'm sure being exhausted from growing that second human isn't helping the situation but hopefully everything will improve soon.  At this rate I'm going to need a VERY stiff drink the day we come home from the hospital.  Maybe Dave can sneak a drink into the recovery room after I pop this kiddo out.  AND NO...I'm not kidding!

In #2 news.  We have an official c-section date.  Jan 25th is his scheduled arrival.  I'm hoping I make it to that day, I have a plan of manicure, pedicure, eyebrows, cut, color and style for the 24th that I don't want to miss THIS TIME.  Cause last time...I missed the pedicure...and clearly "Thats the important lesson to pull from the whole miracle of life experience."  I also have a massive nap scheduled for that day.  Oh glorious nap.  So hopefully my OCD will actually be satiated this time around and everything will go as planned.  If not maybe I can still keep my appointments...I'm suuuure they don't mind newborns? Yeah okay.

I just finished up ordering his new bedding online.  Dave got the nursery painted a few weeks ago.  I'll post some pictures when it's all ready to go.  This is the bedding we chose though (pictures clearly courtesy of Pottery Barn Kids

I'm not sure if it's a crowd pleaser, I show most people and they are like 'oh...........thats nice' but I'm going to defend my bedding:

1. It's not baby blue.  I'm not a huge 'pastel' person.
2. It's totally 'toddler' bedding too.  We used the crib/toddler bed for the first 18-22 months of the bebes life and she used her toddler quilt extensively.  I LOVE her bedding and I'm glad we picked something that wasn't too babyish.  This quilt will totally work well when it comes time to convert to Baby J's toddler settings.  Do kids have a button to push "toddler settings?" Probably not.
3. I like that there are SO many colors in this, I don't have to go 'too themey'.  We painted the room green, which you'd think might not work because of how much blue is involved but I really think its going to be perfect.  I'm accenting in chocolate brown around the room.  I'm just loving all of it.
4. ABC's are a lovely 'theme' if i actually needed a theme.  I've got so many cute little knicknacks and thoughts surrounding the alphabet and the different examples they have for letters on the quilt.  R for rocket is my favorite I found the BEST rocket rattle.  Say that 10 times fast: Rocket Rattle, Rocket Rattle, Rocket Rattle, Rocket Rattle, Rocket Rattle, Rocket Rattle, Rocket Rattle, Rocket Rattle, Rocket Rattle, Rocket Rattle. OMG am I on drugs?

5. This bedding goes REALLY well with our existing off white crib, and the rocking chair my aunt hand painted 3 years ago for me and the bebes.  Which now has a new home in the new nursery.
6. Maybe this quilt can be a homeschooling HUGE flashcard.....no? bad idea? leave me alone!
7. Z is for Zebra and that's good enough for me!

Moving on past my crazy.  I'm excited to get everything all put together before my parents come up for Thanksgiving.  The room is in organized chaos right now, seeing as how I'm not due till January I've turned the room into Christmas wrapping central.  I've got a GOOD chunk of our Christmas shopping done and a decent amount wrapped already.  I'm so glad in December I won't be spending my time at a mall.  I feel like a broken record with how many times I've said I don't want to be at the mall in December but its SO FREAKIN TRUE.

Anyway, I'm too tired to think about any more updates and I'm getting kicked too much to pay attention to much else.

goodbye forevers.
