The unlikeliness of a Christmas tree in the Old Testament

My child is 727 days old.  She's 1 year, 11 months and 28 days old...shes 23 months and 28 days old.  She's almost two.  This post has nothing to do with that.

My child LOVES to pray.  Now I realize she's almost 2 and doesn't really understand what we are doing but I kid you not......after "ball" "dada" and "mama" her next word was "am-ennn." My kid is a Christian rock star in the prayer world and she has NO IDEA what shes doing.

It started out with us praying at dinner, she would hold hands with us and she thought it was a game to say aaaaamen at the end of holding our hands with our eyes closed.  Then she decided she was too cool to pray with us so after we prayed and we started eating...she THEN wanted to pray.....we'd stop everything and pray with her.

We'll be sitting on the couch and she'll grab my  hands and close her eyes.  Also she is SOOO a peeker.  She can't make it through a prayer without peeking to see what the rest of us are doing.  I know this...because I'm a peeker.

We pray before we go to bed and we talk about the blessings in our life and I regularly ask her what shes thankful for.  The answer is usually mElmo or mmmmmouse (Mickey Mouse).  I guess I'll just take what I can get.

Now I realize the hypocrisy here but I am regularly thinking "I'm an awesome mom...my kid prays" which totally defeats the purpose but still....I'm kinda proud.

Last week Dave and I were at Costco and if you know us...we don't share so if I get something he has to get something and we are very childish.  We were walking through books and I thought...HEY...maybe the bebes might want something to.  (I'm so generous? or something?) and we picked her up a book on Noah's Ark.  It has these wooden animal pieces and you can fit them like a puzzle throughout the book...really spiffy.  We got her a simple book with no bells and whistles around Easter that was the story of Noah and she seemed mildly interested so I thought this would be great.

Over the last few days every time we read the book she grabs Noah and goes "Ho Ho Ho!"  EVERY TIME. I think so as to not confuse her further...Santa will never be bringing her a puppy....I mean...we wouldn't want that...I love making up rational excuses for things.

So while I may think I'm awesome mom and my kid is praying and shes interested in bible stories...at the end of the day...shes still focused on Santa...

Sorry kid...Noah hung out on a boat...Santa hung out on a sled.  White beard does not equal Santa.  White beard equals old man.

I guess my child at the ripe old age of 2...still hasn't grasped the finer nuances of biblical study.  I'm pretty sure Santa didn't show up in the old testament or the new.  I mean...I'll double check...but it's unlikely.
