A struggling daily ritual has started in our home where Dave makes an effort to bring his used dirty Tupperware into the house so that it doesn't mold in his car.  A few bad episodes of curdled milk and fungal lasagna have led us to where we are today....a strained relationship of fear and respect where I respect Dave's right and privilege to clean his own decomposing Gladware containers.....Ick!

So yesterday Dave came home from work and emptied out his bag of Gladware and Ziploc containers into the dishwasher and he pulls out two Coke Zero cans that are empty and drops them into the recycling bin.  Up until what a week ago....we've lived in an apartment that was going green.  By green I mean they were going to start charging us for water usage instead of including it in our rent.  How that is making the world a better place I'm not really following the math...regardless we now have recycling at our home.

Now I'm a huge fan of hugging trees and cutting the 6 pack plastic things apart so poor little birds that poop don't die.  I like nature and I enjoy keeping the planet clean so that the many generations have good air and drinkable water.  I did not however realize that the husband was SO super pumped about being an environmentalist that he felt the urge to actually bring home used cans and recycle them out of the context they were used in.  (i like the word context leave me alone) (!!!)  So I guess my point is...that I really have no point which isn't surprising at all.  I'm just happy that the chances are decreasing that I will get into Dave's truck and find the mac&cheese I made last week with a blue green tinge on it.

Although my chances are increasing that his truck will become a self contained aluminum recycling center.

"Eat recycled food....good for the environment....and okay for you"  Anyone?
